A Letter, Just For You

No filter, no edits, just me.

Zahra,

I'm writing this thinking about how it's been 235 days since December 24th, and I still haven't gotten to hold your hand in person. There's an ocean and a lot of time zones between us, and somehow you're still the best part of every single one of my days.

Every video call with you feels like a small miracle to me. Your smile does something I genuinely can't explain, it just fixes whatever mood I walked in with. And even though English isn't your first language and Indonesian isn't mine, we still understand each other perfectly. Love has no language, I've believed that since I met you.

I chose you, Zahra. Out of everyone, from thousands of miles away, I chose you, and I'd choose you again every single day. The distance is hard sometimes, I won't pretend it isn't, but it's never once made me want you less. If anything it just proves how real this is.

I can't wait for the day I finally get to hug you for real, not through a screen. Until then, I'm right here, every video call, every good morning text, every good night message across the time difference.

I'm not going anywhere. Not today, not on the day we finally meet, not ever if I have a say in it.

yours, always, from wherever I am to wherever you are
